ABOUT WASHERPILOT

Washer help that points to the maker’s own instructions.

WasherPilot is an independent website for people in the United States who have a washing machine that is showing an error code or acting up. We explain the first safe checks an owner can do, and say plainly when it is time to stop and call a technician.

Who writes it

WasherPilot is written and maintained by a small independent editorial team. We are not a repair company, we do not sell parts or service, and we are not affiliated with Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, LG or Samsung. Brand names are used only to say which maker’s washer a guide is about.

Where the steps come from

Every error-code page and problem guide is built from the manufacturer’s own US help pages: Whirlpool and Maytag product help, the LG help library, GE Appliances support and Samsung US support. Each of those pages has a “Where these steps come from” section with the links, and the date we last checked them. Numbers such as times and temperatures are copied from the maker, not estimated. Where two makers disagree, we show both.

When a maker does not list a code, we say that instead of guessing a meaning. When a safety rule is ours and not the maker’s, it is labelled as WasherPilot’s own rule.

What we do not do

WasherPilot does not replace your appliance manual, a qualified technician, or emergency services. Information on this site is general and may not apply to every brand, model, installation, or local code. A code alone is not treated as proof that one part has failed, and we do not tell you to replace pumps, valves, door locks or control boards.

Read our editorial and research approach to see why exact-model manuals come first, where general guidance stops, and how readers can report a correction.

Corrections

If a step is unclear, a code differs on your model, or a manufacturer page has changed, tell us on the contact page. We check the maker’s page again and update the guide.

Advertising and affiliate links

WasherPilot is funded by advertising and by a small number of clearly labelled affiliate links to ordinary owner-replaceable items such as inlet hoses and anti-vibration pads. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Ads and affiliate links never decide the safety advice, never appear inside a stop-use warning or an error-code explanation, and every guide works without buying anything.
