Privacy Policy

WasherPilot is an educational site about washing-machine problems and error codes. It is written for readers in the United States. This page explains what information the site handles today.

Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools are used and to improve the guides. It loads shortly after a page opens or when you first scroll, click or press a key. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and may collect your browser and device type, pages viewed, approximate location and how you move around the site. It does not give us your name or email address.

We also send simple event names to Google Analytics, such as which tool was opened or finished, which guide link was clicked, or which step of a guided check was reached. We do not send the text you type into our tools or forms.

Information that stays in your browser

Some tools, such as the dashboard, washer profile, washer log, maintenance plan and calendar, load check and guided troubleshooting, save what you enter in your browser’s local storage on your own device. We do not receive that information. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser settings.

Messages you send us

The feedback and “share what worked” forms are processed by FormSubmit, a third-party form service, which delivers your message to our email inbox. Do not include personal contact details, full serial numbers or anything that could identify your home. We use messages to answer you and to improve guides.

Cookies, advertising and affiliate links

The site may show advertising in the future. If it does, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to visitors based on their visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or visit aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits.

Children

WasherPilot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If we change what the site collects, for example by adding advertising, we will update this page and its date.
