ERROR CODE GUIDE
Washer showing a water inlet or fill error?
This group of codes often appears when the washer cannot take in water at the expected rate. Confirm the exact code in your model manual: names and meanings vary by brand.
Safe first checks
- Make sure both supply valves are fully open.
- Confirm the inlet hoses are not kinked, crushed, or leaking.
- Check whether water is available at nearby faucets.
- If the manual permits it, inspect the visible inlet screens gently; never poke them or force a fitting.
When to stop
Call a qualified appliance technician if the code returns after basic checks, the washer overfills, water continues flowing while the washer is off, or you find damaged electrical wiring.
Use timing as the clue
Does the message appear before any water enters, after a small amount, or only on one temperature setting? Write that down along with the cycle. Both hot and cold supplies may matter on a model even when a selected cycle sounds like it should use only one. The pattern helps distinguish a visible supply issue from a condition that needs model-specific diagnosis.
Safe DIY versus service
Safe DIY: verify valves, visible hose kinks, and home water availability. Manual-only: screen care if your manual explicitly permits it. Technician: recurring code with confirmed supply, overfilling, water flowing while off, or any wet electrical area.
Use water-flow timing, not a part guess
A code that appears before any water enters can point to a closed valve, a kinked hose, or a supply interruption. A code that appears after some water has entered may be a slow-flow condition instead. Check both hot and cold supplies where your washer uses them, then compare the exact model manual before assuming an inlet valve has failed.
When the home supply is the clue
If nearby fixtures also have weak flow, or the supply valve, hose, or connection is leaking, stop using the washer and resolve that first. Never loosen a pressurized hose to test a fill error. Record whether the issue affects one temperature or both; that is a safe, useful detail for a plumber or appliance technician.

Washer will not fill →Common questions
Why can a fill code appear on a cold cycle?
Many machines still monitor more than one water path depending on the program. Confirm both visible supply valves and hoses before assuming the selected temperature tells the whole story.
Can I remove a hose to test pressure?
Do not loosen a pressurized connection as a test. Check nearby faucet flow and hose condition first. Any damaged hose, leaking fitting, or water near electricity is a stop-use condition.
