WASHER PROBLEM

Washing machine not filling with water?

If the washer starts but little or no water enters, begin with the supply. Do not assume the inlet valve has failed until the simple checks are complete.

1. Confirm water supply

Make sure both supply valves are fully open and that nearby faucets have normal pressure. A recent plumbing interruption can leave a valve partly closed.

2. Inspect the inlet hoses

Look for kinks behind the cabinet and check that the washer has not been pushed tightly against its hoses. Do not loosen fittings while water is on.

3. Check the exact display message

If a code appears, record it and look it up in the manual for your exact model. Similar codes do not have universal meanings.

When to call for service

Call a technician if the washer overfills, keeps filling while off, has a damaged electrical cord, or still will not fill after the basic supply checks.
