Samsung UE or Ub: the washer is protecting itself from an unsafe spin.
On many Samsung machines, UE or Ub appears when the load cannot be balanced for spin. It is often solved by changing the laundry — but a code that returns with a small, ordinary load deserves closer attention.
A comforter, bath mat, or one pair of shoes can be too uneven alone.
Clothes need room to redistribute before high-speed spin.
A machine that rocks cannot correct an unbalanced load consistently.
Reset the load, not the code
Pause the cycle through the controls and wait for the door to unlock. Spread the laundry around the drum; if one item is clearly heavier or holds more water, remove it and add a few similarly weighted pieces only if your manual permits it. Then run one spin attempt.
Look at the washer's footing
With the washer off, press diagonally on the top corners. It should not rock. A level machine still needs all feet firmly on the floor, and a floor that flexes can make balancing harder. Avoid stacking temporary shims under a vibrating appliance.
When UE / Ub is no longer a laundry issue
Book service if the code repeats with a modest, evenly distributed load, the basket strikes the cabinet, or the washer has developed a new clunk or scrape. Suspension, drive, or sensing problems require model-specific inspection.
