LG IE or 1E: confirm water can actually reach the washer.
On many LG washers, IE/1E is an inlet or slow-fill clue. It does not automatically mean the valve inside the machine has failed. Start with the supply route you can see and verify the exact code in your manual.
Some machines need hot and cold supply even for a cold cycle.
Check for tight bends after moving the washer back into place.
Note whether the code comes immediately or after a partial fill.
Confirm the household supply first
Make sure both faucets are fully open and that another nearby cold-water fixture has normal flow. Then inspect each visible inlet hose for kinks, crushing, or tension. Do not drag a heavy washer forward by the hoses.
Use the exact model manual for inlet screens
Small inlet screens can collect debris, but their access differs by model. If your manual says they are user-cleanable, turn off water and power first, follow its procedure, and never puncture a screen or operate without it.
When to call for model-specific service
Repeated IE/1E with confirmed water supply, a leaking connection, or a machine that fills briefly then stops needs further diagnosis. Save a photo of the code and full model number before calling.
