Photograph LE and note whether it appeared while washing or spinning.
Start with the least invasive check
Pause the washer, wait for it to unlock, and remove a very heavy or tightly packed load. After the drum is empty and the floor is dry, turn the machine off. If the manual permits a restart, try only once with a small normal load.
What not to conclude from LE
LE does not prove a specific motor, sensor, or control part has failed. A part may be expensive and wrong. If the code returns, the useful next step is model-specific service with the exact code, model number, and symptoms.
When a noise changes the decision
Grinding, scraping, a drum that will not turn normally, or a burning smell moves this from a reset question to a stop-use issue. Leave the washer off and arrange service.
