Washer not cleaning clothes well?

Poor wash results are often about load size, program choice, detergent amount, water temperature, or a dirty washer — not a failed machine.

1. Avoid overloading

Laundry needs room to move through water and detergent. Pack the drum loosely and keep very soiled items from being buried in a packed load.

2. Match the cycle to the load

Quick cycles are not designed for heavy soil. Use the fabric and soil settings recommended by the appliance and clothing labels.

3. Measure detergent

Both too little and too much can hurt results. Too much can leave residue; too little may not lift soil. Start with the detergent label and adjust for load size and local water hardness.

4. Keep the washer clean

Residue and mildew film can affect odor and rinse performance. Use the approved cleaning cycle as part of regular maintenance.
